I know many of you are gearing up to leave for the playa, but for those of you who will be sticking around and looking for something cool to do. Please join me and some friends on September 8th from 11:00AM until 3:00PM in Venice at the Vera Davis Center.

My foundation is hosting it’s Do Something Saturday project. For information and details on how you can get involved, please shoot me a message here on tribe or by email kengikat@gmail.com.

My friend Karen who owns Café Buna is providing 150 meals for this event. I am now hoping to supply clean clothes and shoes in good condition. The push is also on to provide 150 Do Something Kits.

If you didn’t make the trek out to the playa, then please join me and some cool friends in a day of helping those who have less.

Do Something Kit supplies include:

• New pairs of socks
• Granola, power, protein or cliff bars
• bar soap or body wash
• hand or face towels
• tooth brushes and tooth paste
• mouth wash
• deodorant
• bottle water
• beanies (hats)
• shampoo and conditioner
• hand lotion
• large zip lock bags

(all items should be travel size so they can fit into the large zip lock bag)

Your continued donations of these items provide homeless people in the Los Angeles Area the opportunity to keep themselves clean and groomed. It has been our experience that this greatly contributes to the likelihood of someone getting a job and become self-sufficient.

The best place to get these items is from the 99 cent store or from the 99 cent area of all Target store.

Please get out and support your community and vote today on 98 and 99.

Vote NO on 98...keep developers from having the right to legally stop rent control. and yes on 99.

Do not SLEEP! You think Venice is changing now? If 98 passes the Venice you know and love will be gone forever!

Venice Arts Performance Art Space on the beach!

Now that anyone can get a performance space on the beach, I plan to hold a "Jamaganza" there. This will be open to practically anyone who wants to play an instument or beat a drum and all with the blessings of Parks and Rec!

Also now considering "OTHER" performance art activities for future projects.

I'm already registered and plan to participate in the "lottery" for spaces on Saturday morning. This will probably get me a two week space.
Let's talk about more ideas for the "Venice Arts Performance Art Space" on the Beach.

Venice Performance

Played tonight. it went very well. Met alot of very cool people, and did some open giving. wonderful. The 'Flipflopaphone' went extremely well for circumstances(nearing winter) I even scored cash, beer, and someone gave me gas money for a big drum circle to bring 'flipflopaphone' tomorrow at griffith park
